Tonopah, NV  Slipped two days to June 23 & 28, 2007

Rick Barber is the event honcho for Soarfari Event 2 which  is a six day visit to Tonopah, Nevada.

Deposit rules will apply to this event.

From Honcho Rick Barber: 

Jeff Campbell from Telluride Soaring has agreed to tow for us at Tonopah. Jeff will be towing for the Region 9 contest starting on the 30th at Parowan. Because of this I am changing the dates for Tonopah to Saturday June 23 - Thursday June 28. Jeff can then use the 29th to move on to Parowan. Jeff will be flying a Cessna 150 with a 180.
Jeff will credit any unused deposits toward tow fees. The tows will be a minimum of $50 for 2000 feet and $1.00 per 100 feet over that.

I've talked to Mark Peterson at the Tonopah airport and he said that camping will be allowed on the airport at a location to be determined when we arrive. Unfortunately, there are no restrooms available after hours and no showers. There will be oxygen and water available on the field. We will not be charged any tie down fees.

There are a number of motels and a couple of campgrounds in Tonopah.
