Last scheduled Soarfari event of 2006

Last Update 07/23/2008

There will be a Barbeque at the Airport Saturday night

SKYSAILING runs a glider FBO at Warner Springs and will have THREE (3) Tow planes available during our weekend. We share the towplanes with their operation and if we get more than about 15 people signed up we need to let them know ASAP, and the first-signed up-first-priority-to-tow rule will need to be enforced. The list on the schedule page is shown in the order of sign-up for this event.

The recent Region 12 Soaring contest page (region12 contest ) has the best links with turnpoints files, landout locations, directions, site info, lodging info, and more!

A popular place to stay (and the only place less than 30 minutes away) is the rustic Warner Springs Ranch http://www.warnersprings.com BUT YOU MUST GO THROUGH SKYSAILING TO GET YOUR RESERVATION at this private/membership resort. Call Skysailing at 760-782-0404, 7 days a week between 9 & 5 to get a reservation, and be sure to tell them you are with the Soarfari group which is coming to fly at Warner Springs September 23-25. Discover Card is not taken at the resort. $110/night, tax included, single occupancy. No bicycles, phone, TV, Internet, and lots of other restrictions at this get-away-from-it-all resort. But they have an Olympic-sized hot spring-fed swimming pool!

Overnight Camping on the airport is allowed, but there are no showers available
